Neil's parents, brother and niece came to visit for the weekend. We had mostly no plans and kind of did what felt good. The kids all woke up super early Saturday, so after a big breakfast we headed over to Jester Park for a hike. Jack had a classmates birthday party to attend in the afternoon and then we all got dressed up and went out for a special dinner. It was Ruby and Romaine's 40th wedding anniversary and our 7th anniversary that weekend. After dinner we came home and built a fire in the cul-de-sac and staid up way too late chatting in the glow. Sunday, the kids got up promptly and chowed down another tasty breakfast. The next stop was Big Creek State Park. The family rented paddle boats and we brought along our kayak. Neil, Matt and I took our turns meditating and paddling the kayak, while the kids played on the playground and in the sand. It ended up being in the 90's that day so after just a few hours everyone was ready to put their feet up and eat lunch. It was a great visit and everyone was ready for naps Sunday afternoon.
