Family Pictures 2015.

6-10-2015. Thank you Laura McNatt Photography, for the great pictures again!

Busy, Busy Birthday!!!

6-10-2015. So today is a big day, it's Jack's Birthday!!! We started off the day with a last minute haircut for Mac and Ty.
Then we went to one of Jack's favorite places, The Playground in Ankeny. The boys played for hours and really wore themselves out.
Then while Ty and Mac were napping, Jack got to help put together his birthday present...you can probably hear it, a drum set. After a quick jam session we got everyone tidied up and went to take family pictures. We took our photos this year on the Clive Greenbelt Trail. Pretty fitting, as we are on this trail almost every week for some kind of run, bike ride or trip to the park. The boys did as well as to be expected, as we were eaten alive by mosquitoes! Then Jack picked to have dinner at his favorite Chinese restaurant. It was a big and busy day, Happy Birthday Big Guy!

Backyard Pool Time.

Merle Hay Playtime.

6-8-2015. After a long shopping trip for mom to find something to wear for family pictures, the boys deserved some playtime at the mall. Mac ran around screeching the whole time. Also Ty has started sticking out his tongue for every picture, hopefully he gets over that idea before it's real picture time!

Rezac Anniversary Weekend.

6-6-2015. Neil's parents, brother and niece came to visit for the weekend. We had mostly no plans and kind of did what felt good. The kids all woke up super early Saturday, so after a big breakfast we headed over to Jester Park for a hike. Jack had a classmates birthday party to attend in the afternoon and then we all got dressed up and went out for a special dinner. It was Ruby and Romaine's 40th wedding anniversary and our 7th anniversary that weekend. After dinner we came home and built a fire in the cul-de-sac and staid up way too late chatting in the glow. Sunday, the kids got up promptly and chowed down another tasty breakfast. The next stop was Big Creek State Park. The family rented paddle boats and we brought along our kayak. Neil, Matt and I took our turns meditating and paddling the kayak, while the kids played on the playground and in the sand. It ended up being in the 90's that day so after just a few hours everyone was ready to put their feet up and eat lunch. It was a great visit and everyone was ready for naps Sunday afternoon.

Bowling with the Schlepper's.

6-2-2015. Our neighbors, the Schlepper's, invited us to join them at the Madrid bowling alley for a fun family night out. We ate, drank, played and had a great night out. I revealed my addiction to Claw machines. Yes, I have to play them if I have quarters to spend!
