Happy 4th of July!

7-5-2014. For the 4th of July we had a crazy fun weekend. We started things early with a party at our neighbors on the 3rd. Then on the 4th we staid up late again and shot off fireworks in the cul de sac and had a bonfire with our neighbors. Then on the 5th we celebrated Ella and Eli's Birthday and ended the evening with the Grimes fireworks display. The boys got to stay up late 3 nights in a row! Hear that boys...3 nights! I don't want to hear you complain about bedtime ever again :-)

7-5-2014. On this Saturday we all went for brunch to The Machine Shed. After everyone ate really well, we sat aboard the trailer for a tractor ride. Pancakes, cinnamon rolls and a tractor ride, to little boys you can't get much better then that.

Sneak Peak of Ankeny Miracle Park Playground.

7-2-2014. Mac had his one year well child visit and then we ate at the Pizza Ranch and topped off the trip to Ankeny with a stop to some fun Ankeny Parks. Within short walking distance we stumbled upon the construction site of the new Miracle Park Playground. The playground was fully assembled but was missing the rubber flooring, so it was blocked off and had signs saying to stay off of the equipment. Well, I broke the rules...and the boys and I ran around like crazy, exploring and trying out all the cool new gadgets, gizmos and awesome slides. This is by far the neatest and most enriching park I have ever seen. I have never seen anything like it before. We will have to go there again, now that the park is open for business :-)

Jack and Ty's Private Swimming Lessons.

7-1-2014. This summer Jack and Ty took several private swimming lessons from instructor Julie Walk. She is great. Jack can now swim independently the length of the pool back and forth and Ty is getting there. The lessons were well worth the money, the boys learned more in just a few minutes then they did with several weeks of public pool lessons. (And they didn't have to freeze, it was all indoors at a local hotel)

Jester Park Hike.

7-29-2014. Mom and the boys go for another hike threw Jester Park. This trip we started right away in the morning so we could snack and play at the playground before it got too hot outside. We paid the price for going threw the heavily wooded area too early in the morning, and got ate alive by mosquitos. Tons of fun, I LOVE being a stay at home mom... now if I could just find a way to make money while doing it!

Happy Birthday Boys!!!

6-22-2014. We celebrated all of the boy's birthdays with one big party. The weather definitely could have been better, but they had loads of fun none the less. The party started off great, then it pored out of the blue. The kids had a wet and wild time and enjoyed opening presents and eating cake. Then our guests left and mom and dad had clean up duty, but the boys just kept on bouncing. Then the weather became beautiful, all that you could wish for...and the next round of friends came over to help the boys celebrate. It was a long, tiring day but hey...we only had to do it once! I vote for all the boy's parties to be combined. One big crazy day is easier to handle then 3, a little bit crazy days.
