Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

Perfect timing on the new pool G'ma Darla! It was 97 degrees today and I tore the old pool last Friday when I was putting it away. Jack especially likes the water fountain feature...as you can see.

Jack's 2nd Birthday Party.

Thank you to everyone that came and a special thank you to Ruby for hosting the party. It was a John Deere tractor theme party, which Jack helped pick out the decorations (he's pretty crazy about tractors.) Jack technically turns 2 on June 10Th, so I still have a few days to get him fully potty trained by my goal date (that is probably some wishful thinking).
Pinata Time.
Cake Time.
Taste test.
Blowing out the candles.
Jack could have ate his cake any way he wanted...he chose to eat by fork. Not unusual for a guy who likes to eat grapes, cherry tomatoes, hot dogs, just about anything with a fork.
Present Time! All the gifts were great. Thank you all, for your generiousity and endless hours of enjoyment for Jack to come.
Making the rounds to say Thank You with a nice hug.

Tractor Time.

Neil and Matt's old tractors from when they were kids...still fun.

Captain Jack.

Today was the perfect day to break the boat out and get on the water for the first time of the summer. It was 78 degrees, partly cloudy and barely any wind.

Jack all excited to go out on the boat.

Wind surfing race at Saylorville Lake today.

Jack's new bike.

Jack received his birthday present from mom and dad early, it was this Strider Bike. These are pictures of the first day he rode it, he has since become a pro. The bike does not have pedals or a chain, it is the first step to learning how to ride a real bike. The bike teaches him how to balance and I'm sure by next summer he will be ready to pedal a real bike without training wheels easily. After just over a week of having this bike he is really fast and even feels compelled to put his feet up on the bars to coast.

Black Hawk Jack.

Today we went to the 1st annual Grimes fire department pancake feed. Jack got to meet several clowns (one of which made him a balloon poodle), climb in and out of firetrucks, ambulances, and even a Black Hawk helicopter. Neil and Jack were about as close as you can get when the helicopter landed.

Our beautiful trees are in bloom.

Hopefully the wind will calm down so the flowers stay more then a day or two. They smell as nice as they look.

Back to The Playground in Ankeny.

Dad, Mom, & Jack made a trip back to The Playground in Ankeny this week. As you can see, Jack had a wonderful time. Jack was very tired and hungry after only about 1.5 hours of playtime. The bubble machine was a hit!

Jack on the trip back home from Sioux Falls.

Jack had a nice nap, about to Sioux City. Jack caught up on his sleep Monday and Tuesday. He slept in to 8:00am both days and took a 4.5 hour nap Monday and a 3.5 hour nap Tuesday. Now we are back to our normal schedule.

JACK & MOM.

Jack & The Easter Bunny.

I hope this little rabbit did not lay all those big eggs! j.k. this is one of Ruby's rabbits.
