More than once, Jack gave this Orangutan a huge and a kiss. The two of them had some kind of connection.

We went to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo this weekend. This was the first time we, as a family, have gotten to go to the Omaha zoo together.It was a wonderful day. The weather was great, Jack was a trooper, and the monkeys were hilarious. We can't wait to go back!

This weekend we made a trip back to Omaha. Neil had to do some work so Jack and I hitched a ride. Jack got to go to the pool twice on Friday, even on the way home Saturday (after going to the zoo)all he kept saying is "Pool!"

Camp Dodge Exhibit.

G'pa Romaine, Neil, Jack and I explored the sites of the Camp Dodge exhibit and the Polk County Conservation Center. Jack liked the plane the best, he is a bit obsessed with air planes and flying.

Summer has offically begun. Jack, Neil and I went for our first jog around Jester Park.

Swinging Weather.

The last few days it has been in the 50's so Jack has renewed his love for swinging.

Jack really likes french fries, I wish he would really like something that wasn't fried or a potato.

Football Jack.

Another one of Jack's favorite words is football. He likes running and "catching" (more like fetching) the football and wearing dad's old high school football helmet. But now whenever I get the camera out he wants to take the helmet off so he can look at himself in the camera.

Jack loves to work on projects with dad, especially if he gets to use tools(one of his favorite words). This project was tightening the screws on the dinner table chairs.

Sick Jack.

Poor Jack caught a cold last week. This is by far the worst cold we have had to deal with(I guess that's pretty good since Jack is already 20 months old). Over the weekend mom and dad caught the same bug...hopefully we will all be back to normal soon!

Jack sleeping hard. On this day he had already slept 4 hours for his afternoon nap and I was trying to get him to wake slowly so that he would still go to bed as usual that night.

Neil went to California for two weeks for some training, Jack and I found plenty to do to keep busy...but we still missed dad!

The Playground.

Two weeks ago I took Jack to The Playground, it is an indoor play place in Ankeny that children can jump in bounce houses, slide down slides and several other inflatables. They also have a very elaborate jungle gym, I was ready for a nap when we were finished...and a bit sore the next day.
