Outside Boys.

9-4-15--9-16-2015 Starting off is a trip that Mom, Ty and Mac made to Jester one hot, hot, hot morning. In fact we got to stay and play longer in the natural playscape, because school was cancelled for Ty because it was too hot and they were doing an early dismissal. Then that big box Jack is so excited to be holding, is his first big purchase. He gets paid by our neighbor to scoop their snow in the winter, when they are in Arizona. He decided after almost a year of thinking about it, that he wanted a R.C. car and a nice one too. Ty is driving the neighbors Crazy Cart, the boys all love it and if we would let them...they would probibly spend their snow removal money on this next year. And finally you see Mac and Ty enjoying what they can of the back yard. They don't mind the construction stuff, they think it makes things more fun. But one thing is in common with all of these pictures, our boys love to do stuff and be outside. These are rough and tough outside boys!

Adventureland 2015.

8-29-2015. This was the 1st and only time we made it to Adventureland this year. It was a chili day, so going to the water park was never a possibility and it was a weekend, which means ridiculous long lines for everything, even for little kid rides. We were there almost the whole day and we were exhausted by the time we left. Ty was now big enough to go on the roller coasters with dad and Mac was thrilled to have Jack as his escort for most rides. Jack and Ty even went on several rides by themselves. We brought home lots of souvenirs including a GIANT stuffed fish that Neil won, while playing a carny game. Adventureland Awesomeness!

First Day of School 2015.

8-26-2015. Jack started 1st grade at Assumption School in Mrs. Mandernach's class. He is still thinking he wants to be a soldier guy when he grows up, but that's because they get to shoot guns. Oh, boy!
9-2-2015. Ty started 4 year old preschool at Assumption in Ms. Seeman's class. He is so excited to be in school with Jack, he still doesn't understand that he doesn't get to eat lunch with Jack everyday and that he only gets to go for the afternoons.

Getting ready for school.

8-21-2015. Mom and the boys had a field day in West Des Moines this day. First we started off the day with getting new do's for school. Then we stopped at Scratch Cupcakery to eat some goodies and take some for the road. Next stop was Dick's Sporting Goods to get the boys some soccer gear. Then Lowe's to find some storage help for all these little boys toys. Then of course, you can't forget Costco! Then the cupcakes were wearing off so we stopped for lunch and playtime at Chick-filet. Last but not least was Walmart to get a few last minute school supplies and sack lunch options...what a big day. Dad doesn't think going to the store counts as an activity for the boys...but they and I both learned a lot this day about patience, focus, compassion, forgiveness and team work!

Butterfly Garden

8-20-2015. On this day Mom and Jack peddled their way to the Butterfly Garden, off the Neil Smith Trail, with Ty and Mac in tow. The ride was around 15 miles total and it was a breeze for Jack. On this trip we saw many neat things in nature; like a doe on the path, a big pile up of a snake family in the grass, several birds and squirrels and birds chattering away, frogs in the pond and lots of beautiful butterflies and bumble bees buzzing about.

Dr. Doctor give me the news.

8-2-2015. Dr. Ty and his assistant Mac were working their medical skills on Mitch. What an awesome dog!

Stormy Day Fun.

7-27-15. A nasty storm was set to come through so mom took the boys out for ice cream and bowling. We had received free vouchers for everything from the Grimes summer reading program, so we put them to good use. When we first started our bowling game the power went out in the whole building but it got up and started again quickly and as you can see the boys had a good time together. I think at this point Jack was counting down the days until he started school, so he was extra loving and helpful with his brothers.
