Handy Daddy.
9-14-2014.
So we had a cold streak but the boys still wanted to play outside. Dad engineered up this swing in the garage so the boys could still have some monkey fun without gearing up for winter. It is the little things that make everything so precious.
Lets Go Racing!
9-6-2014.
Dad finally got to do something he has been dreaming to do since he found out that we would some day have a son, he got to take his boys to the races. Mac and mom staid home because the races are too late, dirty and loud for little ones. Jack and Ty thought it was pretty neat, almost as neat as all the treats and soda.
Labor Day Weekend - 2014.
8-30-2014.
Every year we make a tradition of going to the Stanford family cabin in Minnesota for Labor Day. We all had so much fun. Besides for all the normal lake fun activities; both Jack and Ty tubed, did the inflatable skis and then made attempts to water ski on a par of connected children's skis. Ty actually tried it first before he even tried the inflatable ski, he had no fear and truly thought he would be able to ski...he was upset when he realized it wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. Jack waited to try until the very end of the weekend on one of the last passes around the lake in the boat. Besides for skiing fun we all swam, fished, went on 4 wheel rides, caught frogs and ate way too much delicious food. Thank you Stanford's for a wonderful family weekend!

Jack's 1st Day of Kindergarten.
Jack's 1st Day of kindergarten. We were surprised to find this sign posted in our yard during the night, so to welcome Jack when he woke up to take off for his first day of school. We all love this school. He is in a class of 8 students! We can already see Jack's mind growing by leaps and bounds, I think this is going to be a great school year.
Iowa State Fair - 2014
8-17-2014.
On this weekend we had our HOI Annual Meeting in West Des Moines. Jack had fun @ the Science Center all day while Ty got to have Zoo animals visit him at the daycare in the hotel while mom and dad listened to lectures and visited with others in our hemophilia community. Then for the evening entertainment they gave out tickets to the Iowa State Fair. Needless to say, the last thing the boys needed was another thing to do, so they went home and went to bed by 8:00. We decided to save our tickets for the next day and go to the fair after the closing lecture at the conference. We had fun spending money on the giant slide, food and loud obnoxious toys. Even with free tickets the fair is a spendy place to enjoy, but it does only happen once a year...and it makes memories for a lifetime!
Final Bam Bam Baseball Game.
9-12-2014.
Jack ended his first season of Bam Bam Baseball. Ty actually got to play for the last game as well, since it was a make-up game and several kids could not attend. Jack didn't like the idea of Ty being in on something that was special for Jack, but he got over it when there were lots of extra snacks for everyone who was there.
HOI Family Camp - 2014.
8-9-2014.
This year was our first year at Hemophilia of Iowa's Family Camp at Camp Tanager in Mount Vernon Iowa. It was an awesome experience. We had to leave Mac in Des Moines with another wonderful family from our group, so we could fully enjoy the weekend with Ty and Jack. We were always busy doing something fun and the boys got to see what it is like to go to a real summer camp. Neil and I never went to a real week long summer camp when we were kids, so it is nice to know what the boys have to look foreword to. I hope Mac will be ready for the experience next year, so the whole family can go together.
Play @ Jordan Creek Mall.
8-7-2014
So mom was feeling the pressure of summer coming to an end and was trying to do as many fun things as possible with Jack and the boys before school started. So almost everyday had to have some kind of activity or agenda. On this day we went to Jordan Creek Mall so the boys could play and eat Jack's favorite; mall food court Chinese.
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo - 2014.
8-4-2014.
We took a pit stop in Omaha on our way back home from our visit to Sioux Falls. We stayed the night at a hotel and spent almost the whole next day at the zoo.
Everyone had a great time and we got to see and hear all kinds of great things. Jack's favorite thing was the Alligators in the dark and Ty's favorite was feeding and chasing around the giant groundhogs. We walked through the butterfly house for the first time this trip and it kind of freaked out Jack...the thought of these giant bugs landing on you...he kept asking if they were going to bite us.It was a great trip with no big melt downs, just fun.
